Starbucks in Columbus

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please do not report any errors in the names or spellings of streets or cities to me, but rather to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. I will fill missing photograph dates as I have time, and I will continue to try and obtain store opening dates.

Yukon Building

This store, in the well-known Short North neighborhood, sits in the historic Yukon Building. The large picture windows opens up, though well-traveled High St. is so dusty that they aren't opened much.

3RD St. - German Village

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: ?

When in Columbus, be sure to take a tour of the quaint German Village with its authentic shops and cobblestone streets. And if you decide to drop into this Starbucks, notice the serious of photographs tracing the evolution of the building from a cheese shop to a deli and later ice cream shop, all seemingly owned by the same Isaly family.

5th Avenue - Grandview

This is the other tiny drive-thru in the area. It may look like there's room for some seating, but there really ain't hardly none, and that's the truth!

Arena District

This is one of the few stores located in a sports venue, of sorts. Actually, it is more of a general-purpose venu, unlike the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, but the Columbus Bluejackets play there.

Easton - Macys

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 07 November 2005

This type of store is a new concept for Starbucks, "kiosks" in department stores. In contrast to similar kiosks in other locations, these are actually owned and operated by Starbucks. Note that the Macy's used to be a Lazarus. Kinda funny, actually. Lazarus is dead and won't likely be rising,

Hmmm... this is the second store where I've seen a new style of corporate artwork on the wall. In this case, a rectangle composed of four rows of three colored squares. I'm not sure what they are aiming for, but I hope this doesn't replace the local artwork on display at many stores.

But the tile pattern on the long hallway leading back to the bathroom is cool.

This location had yet another variation of that odd partition that I've found so appealing (the style with squares mounted on dual pipes), with a different type of material this time. I'm becoming really curious as to how they select this type of partition for a given store, and why they all seem to vary slightly.

IS THE PARTITION STILL THERE?

Contrary to apperances, this store was not built in an old building, but rather the entire shopping center (called a "town center") was designed to look old and quaint. Seems kind of hoaky to me.

Licensed Stores (not operated by Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
The list below is not meant to be a complete list of licensed stores. Some licensed stores are not listed on the Starbucks web site, and some of the stores listed below might have closed. That's not really important. I only keep track of them so I know which ones I don't need to visit. But if you know for certain that any of these are actually operated by Starbucks, please let me know (and send me a phone # so I can double-confirm).
