Whenever I enter a store that adheres to the corporate standard design, I find myself paying closer attention to the design elements. At this store, I noiced a new style of light fixture in which the bulb is embedded in square piece of wood, about table-sized, superimposed upon another piece, both suspended from the ceiling. I supposed I noticed it in this store because the fixtures were unusually low... low enough to reach up and smack without jumping too high.
