Starbucks in Zurich

PUT DOWN THE PLASTIC

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please report any naming errors directly to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. However, if you know any of the opening/closing dates I am missing, please send them to me.

Dang it, I noticed the stairs leading to a second floor but I was distracted by the free wi-fi and forgot to go up.

A year later I returned to the store and went up the rustic wooden stairs to find a cozy seating area. Not large, but nevertheless comfortable.

Rindermarkt

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 08 May 2008

This store is small, but the picture window opens out onto the plaza and provides a sense of more space. This is also the first store I've encountered across from an adult cinema. Actual visit May 9.

Sihlcity

OPENED: 22 March 2007, PHOTO: 10 May 2008

Click more to see the large smokestack in front of the store. I had to wonder if, like the Mt. Washington Mill store in Baltimore, the smokestack and building were pre-existing.

Stauffacher

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 09 May 2008

One of the few (perhaps the only?) location in Zurich with sliding doors. Another unusual feature, a large wall-sized mirror that fools you as you walked up the stairs into thinking the space is bigger.

This store has a seating area inside the store itself, but also some seating across the hallway that is covered by the largest green umbrellas I have ever seen at a Starbucks.

Zurich Central

OPENED: 08 March 2001, PHOTO: 08 May 2008

Oh, this store is waaaaay cool. Not only is it three-story, but the second floor is actual split-level all by itself. The metal staircase zig-zagging through the back portion of the store presents a very stylistic effect!

Thalwil

This store would have an excellent view if it overlooked the lake directly instead of the railroad tracks. Click 'More' to see.
