Starbucks in Westchester & Nearby Counties

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please do not report any errors in the names or spellings of streets or cities to me, but rather to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. I will fill missing photograph dates as I have time, and I will continue to try and obtain store opening dates.

Suffern/Airmont

This is another one of those locations with cushioned partitions low enough to serve as benches.

Ardsley

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 01 October 2001

This store has a different style of chair, with darker brown wood and a larger seat.

Carmel, NY, Carmel

When I visited this store, I was treated to a wall's worth of artwork about Bob Dylan, courtesy of a local gallery. Previous displays showcased other artists, like the Beatles.

Chappaqua

Hang around this store long enough, and you might chance to see a certain well-known hillbilly, transplanted from Arkansas (via Washington, D.C. of course).

Dobbs Ferry, NY, Dobbs Ferry

OPENED: 08 May 2008, PHOTO: 22 August 2008

This is the only store I've seen with a drive-thru lane that is actually inside a the parking garage portion of the building!

Hartsdale Train Station, Hartsdale

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 18 March 2001

This location wasn't just built in an old train station, as I had assumed--the station is very much operational, with a little ticket window across the lobby from the bar!

Larchmont

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 06 August 2002

Though smallish, this location has the brick wall and wooden floor that I always find charming.

Mamaroneck

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 06 August 2002

I wouldn't call the doors to the bathroom of this store exactly ornate, but they are for sure prettier than the ordinary plain wooden doors at more locations. When I visited in August 2002, September 11th-themed portraits were on display.

New Paltz

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: ?

This store, in the seemingly touristy town of New Paltz (actually quite far from Westchester County) featured some great paintings in myriad styles by Fornal Casiano, a stay at home mother and excellent artist.

Nyack

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 01 October 2001

Like others through the country. this location offers a conference room. Only this room is separated from the rest of the building not by a door, but by a screen. The rest of the store is spacious, with stylish walls covered with artwork.

Mid-Hudson, Poughkeepsie

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 07 August 2002

I noticed a new style of artwork at this location, one that depicted Starbucks locations. It almost fooled me into thinking it was taken by a local, similar to Starbucks-related artwork I've seen at a few stores around the country.

When you visit, be sure to cross the Mid-Hudson Bridge and (if you are the passenger) partake of the view.

Rye

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 07 August 2002

When I visited, I was told that this store is the busiest in the county. Be sure to step into the back room and check out the photos of an older Rye donated by the Historical Society.

And, as of 2004, this store has a fairly unique feature, a painting depicting a barista at the store, presumably donated by a local artist.

Downtown Scarsdale

OPENED: 15 December 2006, PHOTO: 10 March 2007

This is the third store on a Westchester County train station, and one of just a handful such stores in the nation.

Tuckahoe Train Station, Tuckahoe

OPENED: 16 June 2006, PHOTO: 10 July 2006

This store, the second in one of Westchester County's train stations, wisely inherits some of the design elements of the existing building, like the benches, the chandelier, and the fireplace.

Westchester County has plenty of neat-looking Starbucks, and this one is no exception. I'm told it's the only one (not a kiosk) officially within a park.

Yonkers, Bronx River Road, Yonkers

Yorktown, Yorktown Heights

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 17 March 2001

Notice the large Starbucks sign between the stone columns--a stylish and unique touch!

Oh, and propz go out to Tiffany for suggesting that I categorize this group of stores by the county, Westchester.

Licensed Stores (not operated by Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
The list below is not meant to be a complete list of licensed stores. Some licensed stores are not listed on the Starbucks web site, and some of the stores listed below might have closed. That's not really important. I only keep track of them so I know which ones I don't need to visit. But if you know for certain that any of these are actually operated by Starbucks, please let me know (and send me a phone # so I can double-confirm).
