Starbucks in Tucson

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please do not report any errors in the names or spellings of streets or cities to me, but rather to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. I will fill missing photograph dates as I have time, and I will continue to try and obtain store opening dates.

I forgot to ask why the bathrooms at this location are locked, which is unusual for a store far from the city center (and the homeless).

So far, a great start to this beautiful day... another pleasing Starbucks. However, this location made me realize that Starbucks needs to be more consistent about how stores are named on the Store Locator--the shopping center name should be used if applicable (in this case, Crossroads Festival).

Well, it's not like I expect every single store to be a architectural masterpiece. As plain as this location is, it does have a couple of interesting qualities. Firstly, unlike all the stores I have seen so far located next to an Einstein Bros., this one does not have a wall or door separating the bagel shop. And secondly, this store is the first that I can remember having encountered where the barista takes the customer's name, to avoid confusing the orders. Smart in deed, if not in appearance.

This is the first store I can remember with an automatic flushing toilet in the bathroom. That's cool, I guess, but the fact that you need a key for the restroom... uncool. I'll be sure to avoid the neighborhood at night.

So much for my hypothesis that few people would be out for coffee on Thanksgiving--this lovely store was packed to the gills. And this could have been such a great shot, too, if those darn people would have stayed home with there families. For shame!

I had actually managed to tag this University of Arizona location on my way back from that first trip. It was actually closed when I arrived, but as I fought my way through the rain down from Phoenix, I called up the store and asked them to set a cup of coffee outside the door for me. No doubt they thought the request strange, but customer satisfaction won out, and I was able to add Tucson to my list of cities. But I am glad that I returned during the day, because I was pleasant surprised to discover that this is a very pretty store, almost worth the 900-mile drive by itself.

By the time you read this, they might have added a sign, but when I visited, as you can see, there was no sign reading "Starbucks Coffee", which is unusual.

Licensed Stores (not operated by Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
The list below is not meant to be a complete list of licensed stores. Some licensed stores are not listed on the Starbucks web site, and some of the stores listed below might have closed. That's not really important. I only keep track of them so I know which ones I don't need to visit. But if you know for certain that any of these are actually operated by Starbucks, please let me know (and send me a phone # so I can double-confirm).
