Starbucks in Philadelphia

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please do not report any errors in the names or spellings of streets or cities to me, but rather to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. I will fill missing photograph dates as I have time, and I will continue to try and obtain store opening dates.

This newer store in Center City is plenty spacious, and definitely worth hanging in to absorb the atmosphere of the historic building that it occupies.

I am amazed that they continue to open new stores in Center City. Philadelphia is not, after all, Manhattan. But at least they keep the old wooden stairs, and the very fact that there are now three (or four?) two-story locations makes Philly unusual for an American city.

Of all the Starbucks attached to Macy's, this one is the prettiest. Look for the ornate handles on the doors. I still need to drink 10 drops of coffee from this store to ensure the fulfillment of the prophecy.

I've often noticed that the naming that Starbucks has chosen for its various drink sizes puzzles customers again and again. Well, the baristas at this store have discovered a solution to that problem, in the way of framed signs displayed each cup size (except short--phooey!) and its name: Tall, Grande, and Vinte.

Like the Doylestown location, this store displays Bucks County's original David Frame paintings throughout. Unique elements of this store, besides the great old building that houses it, include a window painted in a colorfol pastoral scene, and the fact that the building also includes a fallout shelter. A sign on the outside explains that this building started out as a house intended to shelter travelers crossing the river on the historic bridge (hence the store's address on Bridge St.) and later became a bank.

Licensed Stores (not operated by Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
The list below is not meant to be a complete list of licensed stores. Some licensed stores are not listed on the Starbucks web site, and some of the stores listed below might have closed. That's not really important. I only keep track of them so I know which ones I don't need to visit. But if you know for certain that any of these are actually operated by Starbucks, please let me know (and send me a phone # so I can double-confirm).
