Anyway, don't forget to walk up the stairs to the ample second floor and look for the framed copy of a page from the "Bromley & West Kent Telegraph" from 1900. |

The building, right next to one of London's canals, was indeed used by the lock keeper. But now, besides housing a Starbucks, it is a virtual mini-information center, detailing the history of Camden on a multi-wall display that incorporates photos, captions, and electronic touch-screen displays. On a wall across from the bar is a large photographic map of London, with Camden highlight, and also an electronic map, as well as a printed on on another wall. Finally, a map of London's Canal system. Click 'More...' to see the view from the balcony. Actually, scratch the map of the canal system. On a return visit, three and a half years later, I could no longer find the map. |

Besides the ceiling, the store, built inside an old Arabic tapestry shop, sports a wooden floor and a dark marble (I think) suppor column. Oh, and I mustn't forget to mention that this store has a second floor where you will find a rather large bookshelf. |
