Starbucks in Austin

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please do not report any errors in the names or spellings of streets or cities to me, but rather to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. I will fill missing photograph dates as I have time, and I will continue to try and obtain store opening dates.

10th & Congress

This store looks neato from the outside, but I was disappointed to find it a bit smallish and plain inside.

Now at the end of the shopping center instead of the middle, this store is vastly more spacious and comfortable. And it has the distinction of being the only store I know of to be relocated without having its name changed (on the Starbucks web site), which made tracking it a little confusing for me, until I realized that an extra space was inserted into the name to distinguish it from the original. Clever, clever. Or should that be sneaky, sneaky?

That nifty design is not just for looks--this store has the distinction of being the first "green" store in Texas, as well as the first two-story, unless you count the Hear Music store down in San Antonio.

Contrary to what one would expect from a strip mall Starbucks, this store actually stands out as the largest in Austin.

This newer store along the heavily-trafficked I-35 corridor extends the boundaries of the Austin metroplex (or at least what I consider the Austin metro area) northward, and cuts down the distance between Starbucks fixes to 38 miles (to Temple).

If you have time, continue driving down Austin Ave and check out the Victorian era downtown square, one of the few left in the country (according to their web site).

Licensed Stores (not operated by Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
The list below is not meant to be a complete list of licensed stores. Some licensed stores are not listed on the Starbucks web site, and some of the stores listed below might have closed. That's not really important. I only keep track of them so I know which ones I don't need to visit. But if you know for certain that any of these are actually operated by Starbucks, please let me know (and send me a phone # so I can double-confirm).
